Regenerative farm growing Māmaki tea, organic vegetables, and pasture-raised poultry in Hawaii's Wood Valley.
Ancient Valley Growers LLC is a regenerative farm based on Wood Valley Ranch in Pahala, Hawaii. It grows Māmaki, a native Hawaiian plant, cultivated pesticide-free and supplied to local and mainland companies and stores. The farm also raises pasture-raised poultry, hatched, raised, and butchered locally in Hawaii, alongside producing eggs and raw milk. Organic vegetables round out the offerings, which are sold to local restaurants and food hubs. Co-owners Matt and Andrea bring both farming heritage and formal agricultural training to the operation.
Ancient Valley Growers practices regenerative agriculture with a focus on holistic soil protection. Poultry is raised on pasture and rotated daily to graze on fresh grass and farm-grown vegetables; birds are raised without antibiotics or added hormones and are non-GMO. Māmaki is grown pesticide-free on Wood Valley Ranch. Co-owner Matt holds a Level 3 certification in Korean Natural Farming and applies KNF methods to develop natural solutions for the farm. The farm is a member of the Wood Valley Water and Farm Co-op, which promotes sustainable, low-input diversified agriculture. Co-owner Andrea serves as Ka'u Chapter President of the Hawaii Farmer's Union United.
