Regenerative ranch raising 100% grass-fed beef and pastured pork, with an on-farm market and ranch stays.
Wrich Ranches is a 160-acre regenerative cattle ranch operated by the Wrich family on a multigenerational property in Crawford, Colorado. The ranch raises a herd of around 100 Black Angus cattle and heritage-breed hogs, selling 100% grass-fed and finished beef and pastured pork directly to consumers. Its self-serve Ranch Market, open 24/7, stocks ranch-raised meat and honey alongside goods from neighboring local farms and producers. The ranch also welcomes overnight guests through lodging options that sleep varying group sizes, and hosts events in its metal-sided barns. Jason Wrich took over the ranch in 2008 and leads its regenerative agriculture program. Learn more on their About Page.
Wrich Ranches follows regenerative agriculture practices with a focus on soil health and fertility. The ranch operates a conception-to-plate system, meaning cattle remain under the ranch's management for their entire lives. Black Angus cattle are 100% grass-fed and finished on diverse forage from the North Fork Valley's high desert ecosystem, which is irrigated with snowmelt from the West Elk Mountains. Heritage-breed hogs are pasture-raised, foraging on fresh greens and digging for worms and grubs; they also upcycle fresh fruit gleaned from local orchards. The ranch grazes 160 acres of deeded land plus an 80-acre BLM grazing allotment, and the broader home property is 260 acres of conserved land.
