Certified organic orchard and vineyard growing cherries, peaches, apples, plums, and sweet table grapes in Colorado's North Fork Valley.
Osito Farms Orchard and Vineyard is a family-owned, certified organic orchard and vineyard situated at 6,200 feet in Colorado's North Fork Valley. The farm grows cherries, peaches, apples, plums, and sweet table grapes, with pears in development. Fruit is sold at an on-farm market, select farmers markets, and through independent markets across Colorado. Beyond fresh fruit sales, Osito Farms offers fully furnished glamping accommodations (available May through October), farmer-led orchard and vineyard tours, and farm-to-table dinners prepared by North Fork Valley chefs. The farm is named for the bears (osito means little bear in Spanish) that visit the orchard each summer and fall. Volunteers are welcome throughout the year to support the farm's work.
Osito Farms Orchard and Vineyard is USDA Certified Organic across its entire farm, with no parallel production. It is also Bee Better Certified by the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation, requiring 10% of acreage as permanent pollinator habitat and 25 acres of continuously blooming cover crop under trees and vines to support native bees and beneficial insects. The farm uses the UC-IPM Bee Precaution rating system to evaluate inputs during the growing season. Pest management relies on beneficial insects, including ladybugs, solitary wasps, lacewings, spiders, lizards, toads, and hummingbirds. The farm is a zero-waste orchard and vineyard: top-grade fruit goes to retail, cosmetically imperfect fruit goes to organic producers for cider, juice, jams, and sauce, and remaining fruit feeds local, humanely raised hogs. Grapes are sold in plastic-free, home-compostable packaging instead of single-use plastic clamshells. The farm is also Real Organic Project certified.
