The Living Farm is a multi-generational family farm on 132 owned acres, with an additional 80 acres under lease. It raises Black Angus cross cattle, dairy and wool sheep, laying hens, chickens, and turkeys, alongside a wide range of vegetables, salad greens, strawberries, and raspberries. The farm offers a year-round CSA, an on-farm market, and open-pollinated seeds for sale online. It also produces handcrafted wool products from the fleece of its pasture-raised sheep. The Living Farm describes its approach as regenerative, with the goal of building soil life year after year. Crops are grown without synthetic chemicals and are balanced for nutrition. Pastures are managed to regenerate and improve the land, and animals are raised on pasture. All plant waste from gardens, the house, and greenhouses is composted together with animal manures to produce the farm's own compost. The farm uses low tunnels and frost blankets in its greenhouses in place of propane heaters. A solar heating system, originally built under a Colorado State University grant, continues to heat greenhouse grow beds through winter. The farm states its goal is total operational self-sufficiency and taking the whole operation off the grid.
