Working sheep farm raising fiber animals and offering wool, roving, yarn, and on-farm spinning classes.
Windrush Farm is a working fiber farm on 25 acres in Chileno Valley, founded in 1995 by Mimi Luebbermann. The farm raises sheep, goats, alpacas, llamas, angora rabbits, and chickens. Wool products, including roving and yarn, are available through the farm's Etsy shop, by appointment at the farm store, and seasonally at the Marin Farmers' Market. Windrush Farm also operates the Windrush Fiber Art School, which holds spinning and fiber arts classes in a barn classroom on the property. Classes range from introductory spinning weekends to a multi-month Fleece to Garment course. Farm tours and concerts are also part of the farm's recurring programming.
Windrush Farm Fiber School classes include a break to meet the fiber animals, and students in the Fleece to Garment course watch the flock sheared and work with a raw fleece through each stage: skirting, scouring, carding, combing, spinning, and finishing into a garment. The farm raises multiple fiber animal species on its 25-acre Chileno Valley property.
