McEvoy Ranch is a family-owned, 550-acre working farm in Petaluma, California, founded in 1990 by Nan McEvoy and now operated across three generations of the McEvoy family. The ranch is best known for its certified organic, estate-grown extra virgin olive oil, produced from seven varieties of Italian olive cultivars planted across 50 acres of certified organic orchards. Beyond olive oil, the ranch produces olive oil-based skin and body care products, culinary goods (including flavored olive oils and bruschetta), and small-lot wines. Visitors can experience the ranch through olive oil and culinary tastings, guided tours, and seasonal events and workshops. McEvoy Ranch has maintained its orchards and gardens in accordance with organic regulations for over 35 years, free of synthetic fertilizers. The ranch holds certified organic status for its estate-grown extra virgin olive oil, and its olive orchards cover 50 certified organic acres. To reduce waste and support soil health, the ranch produces its own CCOF-certified organic compost made from the by-products of olive oil milling, returning nutrients to the orchards. Only 10% of the 550-acre ranch is planted, a deliberate strategy the ranch describes as stewardship of its broader ecosystem of orchards, fruits, vegetables, flora, and fauna. Olive milling by-products are fully reused, resulting in zero waste from the milling process.
