Multi-generational family farm raising certified organic, 100% grass-fed beef, pasture-raised poultry, and farm-fresh eggs in Huron County.
Trick's Creek Farm is a fifth- and sixth-generation family farm on the Bayfield River in Huron County, Ontario. The Trick family has worked the land since 1873, when Thomas Trick purchased the property as a going-concern grist mill and sawmill. Today, Tom and Cherilyn Trick, along with Bill and Thea Trick, raise a herd of Wagyu, Irish Dexter, and Lowline Angus cattle bred for smaller frames, early maturity, and a grass-only diet. The farm also raises pasture-raised chickens and produces farm-fresh eggs. Beyond meat and eggs, it offers pantry items, ready-made products, forest products including firewood and lumber, cabin rentals, and fly-in camping. Products are available at the farm gate, online, and at select retailers.
Trick's Creek Farm raises its beef cattle on a 100% grass-fed diet from birth, with no corn, grain, soy, hormone implants, antibiotics, or feedlot finishing. The farm completed organic certification, with its first certified organic 100% grass-fed cattle processed in fall 2018. The herd is a deliberate mix of Wagyu, Irish Dexter, and Lowline Angus, selected for smaller frames, early maturity, and the ability to thrive outdoors on forage year-round. Chickens are raised on pasture. Much of the farm's electricity is generated by a water turbine in the historic on-site mill. Trick's Creek Farm is a member of the Ecological Farmers Association of Ontario (EFAO), the London Area Organic Growers (LAOG), the Ontario Woodlot Association, and the Huron Perth Woodlot Association.
