Who Knows? Farms grows its produce without chemical pesticides, planting herbs and flowers alongside vegetables to attract beneficial insects and support natural pest control and pollination. Soil health is maintained through no-till gardening, which preserves topsoil structure, plus Hugelkultur mounds, berms, and swales that retain moisture and reduce water use in the high-altitude desert climate. Animals are raised on pasture using an intensive daily rotational grazing system that sequences sheep, then pigs, then chickens across plots. This sequencing breaks parasite cycles through differing digestive systems, reduces the need for dewormers, antibiotics, and vaccinations, and lets pasture regenerate between rotations. Pigs are rotated daily to loosen soil without damaging topsoil and expose dormant seed banks to improve forage. The overall approach blends regenerative land stewardship with ethical animal husbandry aimed at soil restoration and long-term ecosystem balance.
