Three Sons Farm is a family-run farm established in 2013 in Ramona, California. The farm grew out of its three sons' participation in a local 4-H youth agriculture program, where they raised and showed chickens, turkeys, pigs, dairy animals, and sheep. Three Sons Farm specializes in pasture-raised poultry, pasture-raised eggs, grass-fed and grass-finished beef, and heritage pork. All animals are raised on the farm itself; the farm does not purchase meat from other farms to resell. Three Sons Farm describes its approach as "beyond organic." Its chickens are raised on pasture, spending their lives outside eating grass, seeds, and bugs. The farm uses regenerative agricultural techniques to build soil health: chicken manure is absorbed directly into the pasture as a natural fertilizer, cycling nutrients back into the land for successive flocks. The farm states a goal of minimizing waste by finding uses for everything the farm produces. Its beef is grass-fed and grass-finished, and its pork comes from heritage-breed pigs raised on the farm. The Mikolich Family Honey it carries is not blended, flash-heated, pasteurized, or fine-filtered, and is extracted and bottled on-site each summer.
