Family-owned egg ranch producing free-range and cage-free eggs since 1957.
Eben-Haezer Egg Ranch is a multi-generational family egg ranch in Ramona, California, operating since 1957. It was founded by Dutch immigrants Eb and Annie Hogervorst, who purchased the property and built it into a working poultry operation. Today, the ranch is owned and operated by their daughter Bernice and her husband Luis Nevarez, with their children also involved in the business. The ranch raises White Leghorn hens and free-range Rhode Island Red hens, producing both white and brown eggs. Eggs are available for purchase directly at the ranch and at the Poway Farmers Market. Wholesale is also available.
Eben-Haezer Egg Ranch raises two breeds of laying hens. Its White Leghorn hens produce white eggs, averaging 360 to 380 eggs per hen per year. Its Rhode Island Red hens are free-range, roaming the hillsides each morning, creating sand baths, and foraging for bugs, worms, and insects; they produce brown eggs at roughly 300 to 320 eggs per hen per year.
