The Valley Hive is an apiary-focused shop and education center founded in 2014 by beekeeper Keith Roberts and entrepreneur Danny Finkelstein. The shop carries raw and local honey in raw, specialty, and seasonal varieties, alongside bee-inspired skincare, candles, tea, and gifts. A full range of beekeeping supplies is stocked, from protective gear and hive components to complete starter kits. Visitors can view a fully functional glass observation hive in person. The Valley Hive also appears at farmers markets and offers corporate gifting. Keith Roberts, a former president of the Los Angeles County Beekeepers Association, brings deep beekeeping expertise to every part of the operation.
The Valley Hive sells raw, locally sourced honey alongside specialty and seasonal honey varieties. The business offers custom-tailored solutions for managing bee colonies, whether in an orchard or a backyard setting. Beekeeping education runs across multiple formats: a five-week in-person beginning beekeeping course held at the on-site teaching pavilion, a self-paced online beginning beekeeping course, and an immersive single-day Beekeeping Experience. Course content covers honeybee biology, hive inspection techniques, urban apiary setup, Los Angeles beekeeping ordinances, and pest and disease management.
