Restaurant & Wine Shop
Open
Creekside restaurant in Topanga Canyon serving organic and consciously sourced cuisine since 1975.
Inn of the Seventh Ray is a destination restaurant set beneath ancient sycamores along Topanga Creek, open for breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner. The property has a layered history: once rumored to be a Chumash gathering place, then Aimee Semple McPherson's private retreat, later a church, and eventually restored to its natural setting by founders Dr. Ralph and Lucile Yaney in 1973. The Yaneys opened the Inn with a mission of cooking without chemicals or artificial additives, an approach that grew from their own personal lifestyle. The restaurant also hosts weddings and private events, offering outdoor garden seating, private gazebo experiences, and spaces for larger parties. Learn more on their About Page.
Inn of the Seventh Ray prepares food without colorings, preservatives, refined sugars, refined flours, or chemicals. Most foods and grains are seasonal organic or sourced from local farms, some of which participate in a farmers market held in the restaurant's lower parking lot. Chicken and beef are raised naturally and grass-fed; fish is wild or line-caught. Meats and fish are slow-cooked at water temperatures not exceeding 180 degrees. Cooking oils used are olive, nut, palm, and coconut. Water is treated by reverse osmosis and then alkalinized. Most breads and all desserts are baked in house. The Inn also offers organic and biodynamic wines.
