The Modern Milkman is a doorstep delivery service that connects customers with farm-fresh milk, eggs, dairy, bakery goods, beverages, meat, pantry staples, and prepared foods sourced from a network of independent local producers. The business was founded in 2020 when Seth, a fifth-generation dairy farmer from Oakridge Dairy in Ellington, CT, joined forces with Simon, who was building a parallel milk-round service in the UK. Together they built a shared platform designed to help small farms sell directly to their communities. Customers set up a weekly repeat order, can edit it up until the day before delivery, pause at any time, and cancel without a contract.
