Broad Brook Beef

Broad Brook Beef is a family-run cattle farm in the Broad Brook village of East Windsor, Connecticut, operated by siblings Herb Holden Jr. and Ashley Holden. Their parents, Herb and Kathy Holden, purchased the farm in 1978, and both Herb Jr. and Ashley hold degrees in animal science and meat science. The operation centers on a Hereford cow/calf herd and produces beef alongside pork products. Broad Brook Beef sells directly to consumers through its farm store, which carries choice cuts by the pound as well as homemade jams, BBQ sauces, and relishes. Farm shares are also available.
