A 252-acre working farm and retreat offering pasture-raised meats, u-pick berries, and lakeside cabin rentals in East Texas.
The Greer Farm is a 252-acre family-run working farm and retreat established in 1850, making it older than the town of Daingerfield itself. The Gilmore family carries on the farm's legacy, which began as a cotton farm and has since evolved into a sustainable farm and ranch. The farm raises cattle, pigs, chickens, and lambs, and sells their meats, eggs, and produce through an online shop and at regional farmers markets. Visitors can stay in waterfront cabin rentals, fish and swim in an 11-acre private lake, hike the farm's trails, tour the working operation, and pick their own blueberries and blackberries. The farm also hosts private events including family reunions, birthday parties, and elopements. Learn more on their About Page.
The Greer Farm raises its cattle, pigs, and chickens on open pastures. Its beef is 100% grass-fed, and its pork is pasture-raised. The farm states it uses no antibiotics and no hormones, and describes its approach as free from artificial additives. The farm maintains an open-door policy, welcoming visitors to tour the operation and see how animals are raised firsthand.
