2 Mac's Ranch is a small, veteran-owned regenerative farm in Winnsboro, Texas, run by husband-and-wife team Jim and Heather. The ranch raises grass-fed and grass-finished beef and lamb, pasture-raised chicken (for both meat and eggs), and pasture-raised pork. It also offers dairy, produce, bakery items, pantry goods, condiments, and drinks. Products are sold through The Milk Barn at 2 Mac's Ranch, the on-farm store open seven days a week. 2 Mac's Ranch operates on regenerative principles. Cattle and sheep are rotationally grazed with frequent moves to fresh pasture, and the beef and lamb are grass-fed and grass-finished. In winter the herd is supplemented with high-quality hay and alfalfa, plus free-choice minerals. The ranch uses natural alternatives to conventional treatments, including antibacterial herbs and natural dewormers such as pumpkins, and animals are raised without hormones. Meat and egg chickens are raised on pasture in mobile coops that are moved regularly for fresh forage and predator protection. The ranch also partners with neighboring farmers to broaden the selection of goods available in the on-farm store.
