Sixth-generation family dairy farm offering milk, ice cream, farm-raised meats, and home delivery since 1908.
Shaw Farm has been family-owned and operated in Dracut, Massachusetts since 1908, now in its sixth generation. It describes itself as the last home delivery dairy in the Merrimack Valley, delivering milk and ice cream from its own herd of cows alongside farm-raised beef, bakery items, produce, and other locally sourced goods. Customers can shop through home delivery, visit the on-farm store, or stop at the ice cream stand. Shaw Farm introduced its own line of certified organic milk in 2007 and later built one of the most advanced on-farm milk processing facilities in New England. Learn more on their About Page.
Shaw Farm states that its milk comes from its own herd of cows and is produced without artificial growth hormones or antibiotics. The farm has invested in renewable energy, including a 400kw ground-mounted solar array operating under Massachusetts agricultural net metering and SREC programs, a horizontal geothermal heating and cooling system installed with a federal energy grant, and participation in an anaerobic digester project that converts cow manure and food waste into electricity. The farm has also secured its land through preservation programs to ensure long-term agricultural use.
