Sweet Magnolia Farms is a family-owned and operated farm established in 2019 by Nick, Anna, and Emaline. The farm is named after Maggie, the family's horse, and is rooted in a mission to raise meat and eggs sustainably for the family's own table and for the wider community. Its product line includes pasture-raised eggs, pastured chicken and turkey, heritage pork, grass-fed beef, and lamb. Customers can order online for pickup either directly at the farm or at the Coastal Alabama Farmers and Fishermens Market. Farm tours are also available.
Sweet Magnolia Farms raises all its animals on pasture and feeds them an organic, soy-free diet. Cattle and sheep are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished. Laying hens live in a mobile chicken tractor within a large fenced area and are moved every two to three days behind the cattle to distribute nutrients across the land. The hens forage for worms and bugs, and their feed is organic and soy-free. Eggs are left unwashed to preserve the natural protective bloom. The farm practices regenerative land management and humane animal husbandry, describing its approach as radically traditional farming.
