Swagyu Box Co. is a family-owned, member-based beef club raising 100% full-blood Japanese Black Wagyu and Akaushi (Japanese Brown/Red) on a ranch in East Texas. The business was co-founded by the Trux and Sanches families, with the Trux family beginning to raise Wagyu at their ranch in 2017. Swagyu Box offers curated beef boxes in a range of sizes and cuts, from Bone-in Ribeyes and Filet Mignons to Ground Beef, Osso Buco, and Bacon, as well as Quarter Share and Half Share harvest programs. Swagyu Box raises its cattle using 100% Japanese foundation genetics, some of which trace back to stock brought to the United States in the 1970s. The herd is hormone-free and antibiotic-free, pasture-raised, and grain-finished. Cattle are hand-fed, massaged regularly, and kept in a low-stress, open environment. Each animal takes 3-4 years to produce and is harvested to achieve Beef Marble Scores (BMS) of 8-12. The business states a commitment to minimizing environmental impact while supporting local farmers and businesses.
