Hummer & Son Honey Farm is a family-owned apiary in Bossier City, Louisiana, with roots going back to a 4-H project started in 1985. The farm produces 100% pure, single-source Louisiana honey along with creamed honey, cut comb honey, infused honey varieties, honey barbecue sauce, beeswax, and beekeeping supplies. Products are available through the farm's online store, at the Shreveport Farmers Market, and through retail partners including Whole Foods, Brookshire's, Kroger, and Walmart. Hummer & Son Honey Farm maintains approximately 500 bee colonies spread across Caddo, Bossier, and Red River parishes. The farm conducts two harvests each year: a spring harvest running from mid-March through mid-June, during which 30,000 to 50,000 bees produce light, sweet honeys from clover, willow, and hairy vetch wildflowers; and a second harvest from mid-June through September, during which 100,000 to 150,000 bees yield darker honeys from ratan, woods, vetch, sunflower, aster, and goldenrod wildflowers. All honey is described as 100% pure and single-source Louisiana honey.
