Overview
Multi-farm CSA and farm stand offering vegetables, fruit, berries, meat, and jam grown with organic methods.
Studio Farm Products is the shared brand for three family farms, with Studio Farm in Voluntown, CT at its core. The property dates to 1753 and has been used for growing vegetables, fruits, and raising animals since 1963. The farms grow vegetables, fruits, and berries using organic methods and sell through a weekly CSA program, local farmers markets, and a farm stand. CSA shares come in full, half, and mini sizes across spring/summer and late summer/fall seasons, with a Thanksgiving share also available. Beef, pork, chicken, veal, and eggs are available as well. Fruits and berries not sold at market are processed into jam. The entire family takes part in planting, harvesting, and all aspects of farm work.
Studio Farm Products grows vegetables, fruits, and berries using organic methods, with heirloom and organic seeds and no chemical fertilizers, GMO seeds, or sprays harmful to bees or the environment. The farms use honeybees to support pollination, plant wildflowers and herbs to attract other pollinators, and use trap crops to redirect pests away from the main gardens. Beef cattle are pastured and fed hay harvested from the farms' own fields during winter; calves are allowed to stay with and nurse from their mothers. Pigs and chickens are raised outside and fed culled vegetables from the gardens along with GMO-free grain. No added growth hormones are used in the meat. Studio Farm Products is a member of the Connecticut Northeast Organic Farming Association (CT NOFA) and signs the CT NOFA Farmer's Pledge annually.
