Grass-fed beef, heritage pork, and registered American Milking Devon cattle from a North Stonington farm.
Devon Point Farm is an organic farm in North Stonington, Connecticut, run by Patty and Erick Taylor, who have been raising American Milking Devon cattle since 2000. The farm produces 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef and raises heritage breed pigs (Red Wattle crossed with Gloucester Old Spot) for pork sold by the whole or half. It also raises heritage breed chickens for eggs. Devon Point Farm maintains one of the largest registered American Milking Devon herds in the country and sells cattle and semen as breed stock, including animals with A2 genetics. Beef is available by the half, quarter, sampler box, or individual cut, with butchering done monthly year-round. Pickup is by appointment at the farm, with delivery also available. Devon Point Farm raises its beef cattle exclusively on pasture, feeding them only grass and hay in winter, with no grain, hormones, antibiotics, steroids, or chemicals. Its heritage pigs are pastured and supplemented with a custom mix of unprocessed whole grains, trace minerals, and organically grown vegetables from the farm; no restaurant scraps, stale bakery products, hormones, antibiotics, or steroids are used. All animals are humanely raised, and livestock are butchered at a USDA-supervised facility designed by animal behaviorist Temple Grandin. The farm describes its farming practices as sustainable, organic, and all-natural, and is a member of the Livestock Conservancy, actively working to preserve rare and heritage breed livestock. Pork returns to customers individually wrapped in cryovac vacuum-sealed packages.
