Overview
Regenerative farm stay, farm-to-table dining, and farm tours on a 26-acre off-grid permaculture farm in North Kohala.
Starseed Ranch is a 26-acre off-grid regenerative farm in North Kohala, Hawaii, stewarded by Dash and Erika Kuhr and their family. The property encompasses tropical food forests, medicinal herb gardens, Polynesian food forests, heirloom vegetable plots, and tropical fruit orchards, all grown in volcanic soil. Starseed Ranch offers eco-lodging in several on-farm hales, guided farm tours, farm-to-table lunches and dinners, and structured wellness retreats. Meals are prepared from ingredients sourced directly from the ranch or neighboring farms, with menus shifting according to the morning's harvest. The Kuhrs also run HIP Agriculture, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on regenerative agriculture education and youth food-systems programs. Learn more on their About Page.
Starseed Ranch operates as a fully off-grid property, powered entirely by solar energy and fed by rainfall catchment systems. The farm grows heirloom vegetables, tropical fruits, and healing herbs using permaculture and regenerative agriculture systems. Farm-to-table meals draw from organically-grown vegetables, fruits, and Polynesian starches such as breadfruit, taro, sweet potato, and cassava, paired with locally-sourced proteins including meat and fish. All meal ingredients are sourced directly from the ranch or neighboring farms. The property also maintains native plant and tree restoration programs and incorporates traditional Hawaiian agricultural practices into its land stewardship.
