Family farm raising all-natural, grass-fed and grass-finished Black Angus beef in Kentucky.
Spring Hills Farm is a family-owned farm on 100 acres in the rolling hills of Kentucky, raising Black Angus beef since 2001. The farm began as a personal effort to grow quality beef for the family, and grew into a business after neighbors and extended family took notice. Products include selection cuts, bundled packages, and whole or side beef on the hoof, with customers working directly with the butcher to specify their cuts. All beef is dry aged 14 days, then USDA certified, vacuum sealed, and flash frozen. Orders can be placed through the farm's online store. Learn more on their About Page.
Spring Hills Farm raises Black Angus cattle that are grass-fed and grass-finished, with no hormones, steroids, antibiotics, GMOs, or artificial pesticides used at any stage. Cattle are born and raised on the farm and rotated to fresh pastures every few weeks. Natural springs on the property are used to water the herd. Calves are weaned using a low-stress technique: they are moved to a field adjacent to the mother, separated by a fence, so the pair can remain close for several days before the mother gradually rejoins the herd. The farm harvests steers twice a year, in spring and fall, and beef is processed at Boone's Butcher Shop in Bardstown, KY, a third-generation family business.
