Broken Road Farm is a small vegetable and cut flower farm in Willow Shade, Kentucky. It sells produce at the Farmers Market on the Square in Columbia, KY every Saturday, and offers a seasonal CSA program with two share sizes. CSA boxes contain 8 to 10 items per week, drawn from a range of vegetables including greens, root vegetables, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, and fresh herbs, with optional mixed flower bouquets available as a substitute for produce. Broken Road Farm holds Certified Naturally Grown (CNG) certification for its vegetables and cut flowers. It does not spray any herbicides or pesticides, including organically approved materials. The farm takes a preventative approach to pest and disease management, prioritizing soil biology over chemical intervention. Cover crops are incorporated into its rotation to reduce erosion, increase soil fertility, and support biological activity in the soil.
