Pasture-raised, organically fed chicken and eggs from a third-generation regenerative farm.
Scratch Made Farm is a third-generation family farm just outside Birmingham, Alabama, focused on pasture-raised poultry and eggs. The farm is run by the Morgans, who describe their name as a double meaning: chickens scratch, and the family is building something from scratch. Scratch Made sells whole chickens, chicken cuts, eggs, and offal direct to customers through its online shop and community drop locations. It also offers the Scratch Box, a monthly subscription that delivers a curated mix of chicken cuts and eggs on a seasonal harvest calendar. The farm operates with what it calls radical transparency about how its food is grown. Learn more on their About Page.
Scratch Made Farm raises its flocks on pasture and moves every bird to fresh pasture on a rotating basis. The farm uses certified organic feed sourced from Kentucky Organic Farm and Feed, and its chicken and eggs are soy-free, non-GMO, and raised without antibiotics or vaccines. Rotational grazing is central to the farm's regenerative approach: the movement of flocks is intended to build soil, sequester carbon, and improve water retention on the land. The farm raises animals according to regenerative agriculture principles, with animal welfare and soil health as stated priorities.
