Multi-generational farm raising pasture-raised meats, eggs, microgreens, and small-batch cottage kitchen goods.
Rose Wagon Ranch is a multi-generational family farm in Amite, Louisiana, rooted in a long tradition of cultivating land, raising livestock, and growing produce for the table. The ranch raises pasture-raised veal, pork, rabbit, and quail alongside laying hens and microgreens. Its cottage kitchen line offers small-batch preserves, infused salts and vinegars, jellies, and pickled vegetables made from seasonal harvests. Products are sold face-to-face at farmers markets across southeast Louisiana, including weekly stops in Hammond, New Orleans, and Gretna, as well as by appointment directly at the farm. Selection rotates with the season and each freezer batch.
Rose Wagon Ranch practices rotational grazing, moving livestock across pastures in rotation to allow rest periods, distribute manure evenly, and reduce weed pressure. For chickens and rabbits, the ranch uses mobile coops and hutches, called tractors, that are shifted to fresh pasture regularly, giving animals access to forage, fresh air, and sunshine while keeping their environment clean. The farm observes organic practices by avoiding chemical pesticides, insecticides, and herbicides. Soil health is treated as foundational: the farm describes the condition of the soil as directly tied to the quality of the plants and animals raised on it, and states that its approach implements regenerative techniques to benefit both the land and its yield.
