Herb, lavender, and flower farm growing medicinal plants, teas, tinctures, and botanical goods in central Massachusetts.
Renaissance Farms is a working farm in central Massachusetts specializing in medicinal plants, herbs, and flowers. Sole operator Nissa Gadbois grows dozens of varieties including lavender, calendula, chamomile, tulsi, and yarrow, alongside cut flowers such as dahlias, zinnias, and roses. Harvested plants are transformed on-site into herbal teas, tinctures, culinary blends, dried blooms, wreaths, and other botanical goods available through the farm shop. The farm also keeps bees, raises goats, and offers goat hikes and goatscaping services. Beyond its products, Renaissance Farms operates a farm school offering permaculture and herbalism education, and hosts events and wellness offerings including yoga, reiki, and apitherapy.
Renaissance Farms grows its herbs and flowers without synthetic chemicals, guided by principles of permaculture and regenerative agriculture to support soil health, plant vitality, and pollinators. Every plant is hand-harvested at peak maturity. Drying is done entirely on-site, using either ambient air drying or a solar drying shed that requires no external energy to operate. The farm's approach to permaculture is rooted in long observation and an ethic of caring for land beyond its immediate productivity. Operator Nissa Gadbois completed her permaculture education at Oregon State University in 2017 and holds additional training through the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine's Herbal Immersion Program.
