Red Moon Farm is a family-run farm on 38 acres in Van, Texas, operated by Justin and Jessica Bullock. The farm grows and sells organic vegetables through a seasonal CSA program and at local farmers markets. Red Moon Farm grows what it sells, meaning produce comes directly from its own land rather than being sourced from other regions. CSA members choose from Mini, Regular, or Large weekly produce shares and select a pick-up site for the season. Red Moon Farm grows its produce without chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides, and describes its methods as organic farming with 17 years of experience. To protect nutritional content, crops are processed as little as possible after harvest. The farm has adopted conservation practices focused on soil health, informed by its direct experience with East Texas growing conditions including drought. CSA boxes can be returned by members to be used as compost or mulch in the fields. On rare occasions the farm may include produce from a neighboring farm, and when it does, it discloses who grew it and where.
