Family ranch selling 21-day-aged beef and pasture-raised chicken from south-central Kansas
Rattlesnake Meat Company is a family-run ranch in Pratt, Kansas, founded in 2020 by Matt and Marci Wooster. The business takes its name from Rattlesnake Creek, which runs through the farm and ranch pastures in the Rattlesnake Creek sub-basin of south-central Kansas. It specializes in 21-day dry-aged beef and pasture-raised Cornish Cross chicken, sold through its own online store, a monthly delivery subscription, and a physical storefront in Pratt. The ranch positions itself as an independent alternative to large corporate meat packers, raising and processing its own animals with no outside corporate ties. Customized bulk orders for businesses and individuals are also available. Learn more on their About Page.
Rattlesnake Meat Company's cattle spend the majority of their lives grazing on native prairie grasses, then finish on a diet of distiller's grain, alfalfa, and Kansas corn for the last 90 days. The ranch also carries grass-finished beef inventory. No growth hormone implants are used on the cattle, and the ranch states that none of its vaccines are mRNA-based. All beef is dry-aged for 21 days at a USDA-inspected, small-scale processor before packaging. Chickens are Cornish Cross, pasture-raised, and rotationally grazed in chicken tractors on pastures that have not been sprayed. The chicken is non-GMO, soy-free, raised without medications or vaccines, air-chilled rather than chlorine-bathed, and not injected with water, broth, or filler. Orders ship frozen with dry ice in USA-made liners.
