Family-run farm offering pasture-raised pork, chicken, duck, lamb, and free-run eggs outside Ottawa.
Quillow Farm is a family-run operation located just outside the village of Osgoode, south of Ottawa. The farm got its start in 2005 with produce, developing its soil and growing practices before shifting its focus to livestock. Today it raises pigs, meat chickens, duck, turkey, and lamb, and sells free-run eggs. Customers can purchase individual cuts from the freezer, subscribe to a weekly egg program, or place pre-orders for bulk packages sold by hanging weight. A monthly freezer order option and a large family chicken package are also available. Bulk-order pick-up is by appointment.
Quillow Farm's pigs eat fresh and dried hay from the farm's own fields, along with brush cuts from the bush and produce left over from other local businesses. Additional pig feed is sourced as locally as possible. Chickens are raised on local and homegrown produce, with feed that is locally sourced; the chicken feed contains corn and soy. Pork is sold using a hanging-weight pricing model. The pasture-raised lamb offered by the farm is described as grass-fed and vaccine-free. The farm describes its approach as sustainable and ethical.
