Overview

Pasture-raised chicken and eggs from a family farm on the Big Island, sold direct and at a weekly farm stand.

Punachicks Farm is a small family farm founded in May 2013 by the Taaroa Ohana, with a focus on pasture-raised chicken and eggs on the Big Island of Hawaii. Pasture-raised chicken is its primary product, sold fresh at an on-farm farm stand, through online subscription boxes, at farmers markets, to restaurants, and through retail stores. Beyond poultry, the farm also raises beef cattle, dairy cows, and seasonal turkeys, and grows a variety of fruit trees including breadfruit, banana, avocado, and longan. It holds a Hawaii Department of Health approved-source designation and a state food establishment permit, and was the first farm in Hawaii approved to operate under the USDA 20,000-birds-per-year processing exemption. Chickens are hand-processed on the farm. The farm also runs a food truck. Learn more on their About Page.
