Overview

Veteran-serving nonprofit farm, online farmers market, and beginner agriculture training programs on Hawaiʻi Island

Ho'ola Farms is a nonprofit farm and food-access organization founded in 2015 by Veterans Emily and John. It serves military Veterans, first responders, their families and caregivers, and the Hawaiʻi Island community. Programs include Victory Gardens for Veterans, which provides free raised garden beds and plant starts to Veterans and caregivers; free Intro to Grow Workshops for all; and Groundwork to Grow, a four-week agriculture program with scholarships. It also runs Hawaiʻi Farm-to-Car, a weekly online farmers market offering local produce, meats, eggs, cheeses, baked goods, and value-added products, with pickup in locations and SNAP and DA BUX Double Up Food Bucks accepted. Its Food is Medicine program distributes local food bags to kūpuna, keiki, Veterans, and families with limited food access. Learn more on their About Page.
