Tropical fruit farm and specialty crop producer growing coffee, macadamia nuts, spices, and more on the Big Island.
O.K. Farms was founded in 2002 by Ed Olson and Troy Keolanui with a mission to perpetuate sustainable agriculture in Hawaii. The farm spans close to 1,000 acres along the Wailuku river, situated on the rolling hills of Pu'ueo Mauka. O.K. Farms grows a diverse range of tropical crops including lychee, longan, rambutan, citrus, coffee, cacao, heart of palm, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and macadamia nuts. It is considered one of the largest tropical fruit producers in the United States. In addition to produce sales, O.K. Farms runs a CSA farm box program distributing weekly boxes featuring fruits and vegetables from farms across the Big Island. The farm also welcomes visitors for tours and offers educational farm visits for island schools.
O.K. Farms manages its land with a focus on sustainable agriculture, including efforts to improve soil health and manage invasive species along the Wailuku river. The farm's ohana has taken an active role as caretakers of land that has been used for agriculture for over 100 years. Its CSA farm box program supports other farmers on the Big Island by sourcing produce from multiple island farms for weekly distribution.
