Vegetable farm and grass-fed beef operation in Salem, CT, regrouping after ending its CSA program in 2024.
Provider Farm was founded in 2012 by Max and Kerry Taylor, who met while working at neighboring farms in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts before relocating to Salem to build the business together. Operating from the historic Woodbridge Farm property, the farm grew into one of the larger vegetable CSA farms in Connecticut, feeding over 200 families a year through its share program. The farm spans 15 acres of crop land and an additional 11 acres of pasture for its grass-fed cattle. In November 2024, the operator announced the end of the CSA and wholesale programs, citing personal and business sustainability reasons, while stating that Provider Farm would carry on in a limited capacity as it explores different paths forward. Provider Farm grows vegetables across 15 acres of crop land spread along Route 82 in Salem, with much of that land stewarded under agreements with local families. The farm maintains a separate 11 acres of pasture for its grass-fed cattle herd. In addition to vegetables and beef, the farm has offered eggs and pasture-raised meat to customers. Provider Farm has operated seasonal public events, including a spring seedling sale and a Thanksgiving market featuring outside vendors.
