Paicines Ranch is a historic 7,600-acre regenerative ranch in San Benito County that raises 100% grass-fed-and-finished lamb and beef, along with pastured pork and turkey. It also grows organic grain and organic grapes in a polyculture vineyard designed to be managed by sheep. Beyond its meat and wine production, the ranch serves as a destination for farm-to-table dining at The Overlook, educational workshops on regenerative agriculture, lodging in cottages, and weddings and private events. Paicines Ranch practices holistic planned grazing across approximately 7,500 acres of certified-organic crop and rangeland, moving cattle, sheep, pigs, turkeys, and chickens frequently to allow plant recovery and increase biodiversity. Its lamb and beef are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished; pigs and poultry are raised on certified-organic pastures with supplemental non-GMO, non-soy grain. The ranch uses no routine antibiotics, synthetic hormones, or chemical treatments. In 2025, the National Audubon Society recognized the ranch through its Conservation Ranching program, and products grazed on ranch land now carry the Audubon Certified Bird-Friendly seal. The 25-acre vineyard is certified organic and managed in part by sheep grazing the diverse cover crop between vines. The ranch also monitors rangeland for soil health and biodiversity, and partners with neighboring ranches on wildfire mitigation through coordinated grazing.
