Non-profit cooperative farm with a seasonal farm stand, pick-your-own blueberries, and educational programs.
Osamequin Farm is a non-profit educational working farm that stewards over 400 acres of conserved farmland and forest. It operates as a cooperative, hosting a community of small-scale resident farmers who share resources such as produce washing facilities and cold storage. A seasonal farm stand carries freshly picked vegetables, herbs, cut flowers, and berries grown by those resident farmers. Visitors can also pick their own blueberries in season. Beyond growing food, the farm runs youth training programs, early childhood nature play, natural dyeing workshops, a community garden, and group field trips. It also opens its grounds for private events, including weddings.
Osamequin Farm grows its vegetables, herbs, cut flowers, blueberries, and sunflowers using all chemical-free and organic practices. The blueberry field is described as organically cared for, with the farm noting that its blueberries have been raised using organic practices since the 1980s. The farm's guiding values include a holistic approach to stewardship that considers the interconnected health of farmers, soil, pollinators, and forests. Heritage breed livestock are kept on the land and help with land maintenance. The farm explicitly states a commitment to regenerative practices as part of its land stewardship mission, and offers favorable long-term leases to first-generation and BIPOC farmers to reduce barriers to entry into farming.
