Natural Pasture Farms is a regenerative farm producing grass-finished beef and lamb, pasture-raised chicken, forest-raised pork, duck and chicken eggs, and seasonal produce. The farm was started by Richard Bruton, who holds a PhD in Plant Breeding and undergraduate and graduate degrees in Rangeland Ecology and Ecosystem Science, and transitioned to full-time farming in January 2020. His goal was to apply a science-grounded, regenerative approach to raising food on his family's Central Texas land. Products are available through farmers market pre-orders, local delivery on qualifying orders, on-farm pickup, and farm tours. Natural Pasture Farms uses rotational grazing and multispecies grazing as core land management tools, moving animals through different fields so each area can rest and recover. Raising multiple species together is intended to improve soil health and reduce pest pressure while giving animals a more varied environment. The farm describes its approach as regenerative agriculture, which it distinguishes from standard organic by its emphasis on active soil regeneration, ecosystem health, and eliminating synthetic chemical inputs.
