Hurst Livestock Co. is a family-operated farm run by Taylor and Katie Faulkenberry in the Bryan/College Station area of Texas. The farm raises Brangus cattle, free-range laying hens, pasture-raised broiler chickens, Idaho Pasture pigs, Pekin ducks, and both broad-breasted and heritage bronze turkeys. Taylor, a Texas A&M engineering graduate, comes from a multi-generational ranching family originating in Henderson, TX; the operation continues that legacy on its current pastures. Hurst Livestock Co. raises its Brangus cattle from birth on pasture, feeding grass only and no grain, and employs rotational grazing to maintain soil health. Cattle are raised without antibiotics and are dry-hung for 14 days at a USDA-approved processing facility in Lott, TX. Broiler chickens are moved to fresh grass every day on pasture. Free-range laying hens produce eggs in a range of shell colors. Turkeys live free-range alongside the chickens and are supplemented with a specially formulated turkey feed. Idaho Pasture pigs, a breed recognized for grazing ability, are raised on pasture.
