Vegetable and flower farm offering a seasonal Farm Membership and weekly farm stand in Southwest Colorado.
Mountain Roots Produce is a vegetable and flower farm located in the Mancos Valley, just east of Mesa Verde National Park in Southwest Colorado. Farmers Mindy Perkovich and Mike Nolan grow a wide variety of produce and flowers, selling through a weekly farm stand and a seasonal Farm Membership program. The Farm Membership is a flexible form of Community Supported Agriculture: members invest early in the season and receive a loaded membership card to spend at the farm stand on their own schedule. The farm stand is also open to the public. Beyond vegetables, the farm grows dahlias, sells dahlia tubers, dried flower wreaths, and garlic braids. The farm also hosts workshops. Learn more on their About Page.
Mountain Roots Produce uses cover cropping, crop rotation, and minimal tillage to build soil health. The farm incorporates flower strips to support beneficial insects and pollinators, and applies water-use practices adapted to its high desert climate. Production combines both mechanized and hand-scale methods, and the farm employs paid workers rather than relying on volunteer labor.
