Southeast Texas apiary producing raw and varietal honey, with bees in the hive since 1999.
Moore Honey Farm is a family-run apiary founded in 1999 by Chris Moore, a first-generation beekeeper who took over a bankrupt bee operation. The farm is now operated by Chris and his son Jake, a second-generation beekeeper. Moore Honey Farm bottles and sells 100% of the honey it produces under its own name, offering varieties that include raw Southeast Texas honey, Texas hot honey, and cotton honey, as well as honey-infused products and a build-your-own Texas Honey Flight sampler set. The farm also sells bees, beeswax, and beekeeping equipment. It hosts an annual open farm event where visitors can tour the working operation, watch live honey extraction, and meet the beekeepers.
Moore Honey Farm maintains roughly 3,000 colonies spread across more than 70 locations in six counties throughout Southeast Texas. Twice a year, the operation relocates a portion of its hives to support pollination services for almond growers in California's Central Valley and seedless watermelon producers in Texas. During watermelon pollination, bees occasionally produce honey from neighboring cotton fields. The farm bottles only honey it produces itself, distinguishing its product from honey imported from other states or overseas and mislabeled as local.
