California-French restaurant with a full bar, raw bar, and the east bay's largest outdoor patio.
Metro Lafayette is a full-service restaurant serving an eclectic mix of seasonal California-French dishes across brunch, lunch, and dinner seven days a week. The menu spans starters such as Dungeness Crab Parfait and Roasted Beet Salad, entrees including Grilled Five Dot Ranch Ribeye Steak and Miso-glazed Black Cod, plus a dedicated dessert menu. A full bar and raw bar complement an extensive wine list built to suit a range of budgets. The restaurant has received multiple Michelin Guide recommendations and holds a Zagat rating. Owner Jack Moore, with a background managing front-of-house for prominent chefs across northern California and Las Vegas, designed the space to offer refined service in a sophisticated setting. The contemporary interior was created by Berkeley-based designers Sheahan + Quandt.
Metro Lafayette's menu draws on seasonal ingredients, with dishes built around California-French techniques. The kitchen sources specific named products, including ribeye from Five Dot Ranch. Executive Chef Albert Rivera trained at Plouf in San Francisco, developed Japanese cuisine techniques at Shinsen in Hercules, and worked at Va de Vi before joining Metro Lafayette. Herbs for the menu are grown in a kitchen garden on the restaurant's outdoor patio, which is shaded by mulberry trees and trellised vines.
