Loup Farms is a family farm in Pointe Coupee Parish specializing in fresh produce. Charlie and Stephanie Loup founded the farm in 2013, bringing together Charlie's background in horticulture and Stephanie's expertise as a registered dietitian specializing in public health nutrition. Charlie graduated from LSU with a degree in Horticulture in 2010 and has been involved in farming from a young age, including work at LSU's Burden research center and the Hill Farm on campus. The farm sells through two channels: a weekly CSA program that delivers a box of produce each week of the season, and a roadside farm stand open on Thursdays and Saturdays. Loup Farms' mission is to grow produce sustainably and to a high standard of quality. Charlie's farming approach was shaped by two years working on a certified organic vegetable farm in Minnesota, where he learned organic growing methods from seed selection through processing. That experience directly inspired the farm's CSA box model, based on the Community Supported Agriculture program used at the Wozupi farm of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community. The farm emphasizes variety and quality across its produce offerings.
