Overview

Nonprofit urban farm growing and sharing free produce, with mutual aid markets and hands-on food education programs.

Lopez Urban Farm is a 3.5-acre nonprofit in Pomona, a Community Wellness Project of Community Partners 4 Innovation, a 501(c)(3). Named for Ignacio Lopez, a civil rights pioneer who founded the Spanish-language newspaper El Espectador in 1933, the farm opened in 2020. It grows fruits and vegetables shared freely with Pomona residents, distributing over 60,000 lbs of produce to date. Visitors can self-harvest garden beds or get food and goods at on-site mutual aid markets: Bodega Comunitaria, Pomona Fridge, and Pet Pantry. It also runs youth and education programs (Jr. Farmers, Urban Chef, school field trips) and a weekly night market, El Puestecito. It partners with Pomona Unified School District, Cal Poly Pomona, Pitzer College, and Western University of Health Sciences. Learn more on their About Page.
