Small-batch jams, pickles, and preserves made from seasonal, locally sourced fruit.
Lemon Bird Preserves makes small-batch jams, pickles, curds, dried fruit, and foraged goods. The business was founded by Amy after a trip to the South of France rekindled her love of canning and jam making. Lemon Bird's jams feature inventive flavor combinations, such as Apricot with Blackberry Honey and Fig Leaf, Cherries with Meyer Lemon, and Blackberry with Basil. Pickles range from Farmers Market Cucumbers to Sweet Hot Pickled Tomatoes and Garlic Scapes with Herbs. Subscription options include a Jam of the Month Club and a Pickle of the Month Club, each delivering seasonal selections on a recurring basis. Lemon Bird's Greengage Plum Preserves won a Good Food Award in 2015. Learn more on their About Page.
Lemon Bird sources produce from local family farms, and fruit is often picked up the day it is harvested or the day after. All jams and pickles are 100% made by hand, with fruit processed and prepared by hand in the kitchen. Jams are cooked in small batches in traditional French copper kettles, a process that typically takes two to three days or more per batch. Pickles are made with natural Hawaiian sea salt blended with a variety of spices. The business takes steps to reduce its environmental footprint through composting, recycling, and the use of eco-conscious shipping materials.
