Five-acre regenerative farm growing Kona coffee, cacao, macadamia nuts, and tropical crops since 1977
Kuaiwi Farm is a five-acre regenerative farm that has been in the same family since 1977. It grows a diverse range of crops, including Kona coffee, cacao, macadamia nuts, avocados, bananas, pineapple, tea, citrus, and vegetable gardens. Estate-grown 100% Kona coffee is available for purchase online; chocolate, tea, macadamia nuts, and dried apple bananas are sold on-farm during tours. The farm takes its name from kuaiwi, pre-contact ancient rock mounds that run from ocean to mountain and are still visible on the property, where they once divided the growing fields of the Kona Field System. Reservations are required for all visits. Learn more on their About Page.
Kuaiwi Farm was certified organic for 26 years before voluntarily dropping that certification, with the stated intention of continuing the same land-stewardship practices. The farm produces its own compost by recycling all organic matter generated on the property, and supplements soil fertility with certified organic fertilizers. Its founding goal was to heal the land and restore it to a natural, organic state after prior exposure to conventional farming chemicals, guided by a principle of cultivating the land sustainably.
