Certified organic vegetable farm offering CSA shares, pick-your-own crops, and a seedling sale in eastern Connecticut.
Cloverleigh Farm is a small, diverse vegetable farm in Columbia, CT, founded by Susan Mitchell in 2014 after she began her farming career in New York's Hudson Valley. The farm runs a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program as its primary focus, offering weekly shares of vegetables, herbs, some fruits, and cut flowers through a summer season and a fall season. CSA members pick up shares on-farm or at an off-site location in Glastonbury. A members-only pick-your-own area in the production field lets members select cherry tomatoes, tomatillos, ground cherries, herbs, and cut flowers directly. The farm also holds a seedling sale and makes produce available through additional local outlets. Learn more on their About Page.
Cloverleigh Farm is certified organic by Baystate Organic Certifiers and is, per its own pages, the only certified organic farm in Columbia. All produce is USDA certified organic. Disease and pest issues are handled using products approved by the National Organic Program. All harvested produce is washed and kept refrigerated until member pickup. The farm stewards its Columbia property alongside Ramble Creek Farm, a pasture- and forest-based livestock operation run by the owner's partner.
