Jolly Farms is a family-owned and operated farm that raises Cornish Cross Broiler chickens in a free-range environment. The farm receives chicks at one day old, broods them in a temperature-controlled setting for three to four weeks, and then moves them to pasture for the remainder of their grow-out. Jolly Farms sells its chickens through an online store, at several retail locations across the greater Houston area, at local farmers markets, and through home delivery in the Houston area. Farm visits are available by appointment for purchasing, tours, or even working alongside the farmers.
Jolly Farms raises its chickens on feed containing no GMOs and gives them no antibiotics or growth hormones. While on pasture, the birds have access to fresh air, natural sunlight, soil, insects, and seasonal grasses including Bermuda grass in summer and Winter Rye in winter. Hoop houses are moved regularly to provide daytime shelter and nighttime security. Chickens are processed at a family-owned, USDA-certified facility where an on-site inspector checks cleanliness and animal health. Processing is done by hand; birds are rinsed with fresh running water rather than a bleach bath, then air-chilled, drained, and vacuum-packed without brine injections.
