Overview

Regenerative livestock and organic grain farm raising heritage pigs, sheep, cattle, poultry, and fiber

Jóia Food & Fiber Farm is a diverse, perennial-based livestock and organic grain farm in Northeast Iowa, owned and operated by Wendy Johnson and Johnny Rafkin. The two relocated from Los Angeles in 2010 to grow food with intention and to integrate land, family, and the food they raise. The farm raises heritage pigs, sheep, cattle, turkeys, guineas, and chickens, and grows certified organic grains and lush pastures. It also plants fruit and nut trees and shrubs annually to increase on-farm biodiversity. The farm describes itself as an advocate of nutrient-dense slow food, from raising it to preparing it.
