Iowa Meat Farms is a full-service butcher shop and gourmet market in San Diego that has been serving home cooks and food enthusiasts since 1968. Its staff includes master meat cutters with hundreds of years of combined experience, and butchers are known for their encyclopedic knowledge of cuts and cooking techniques. The shop carries over 300 cuts of beef, Berkshire pork, free-range poultry, veal, lamb, fresh seafood, and wild game, including rarer options such as alligator, rabbit, pheasant, wild boar, antelope, ostrich, venison, elk, and American-style Kobe beef. Beyond meat, thousands of square feet of retail space are stocked with produce, specialty cheeses, gourmet condiments, old-fashioned sodas, and hard-to-find specialty items.
